Every year, the Company invests on average 5–10% of its revenue in research. It carries out various studies on drugs as well as conducts usage observations in several countries in accordance with the applicable EU and national laws.

Research and development of products and technologies is oriented on the following areas of human health disorders:

• urological infections;
• neurology – stroke;
• psychiatry – anxiety and neurotic disorders;
• virus infections – influenza;
• cardiovascular diseases – coronary heart disease, cardiac failure.

A specific field of research of JS “Olainfarm” is studies performed on new forms of registered medicines. It includes both preclinical and clinical studies and is closely related to the research of active pharmaceutical substances (APSs) in the central laboratory of JS “Olainfarm” as well as the development of new technologies and their introduction into the manufacturing process.

Observations of drug use provide a good opportunity to supplement the drug safety information after the drug has been registered in countries from different regions.
